INFORMANT:

The scammer with the name of Jacob Wang. I’ve unwittingly communicated with him for two weeks on Zoosk (dating app) He said he was an Orthopaedic Surgeon currently on 6 months deployment stationed at a UN medical centre in al Hudaydah (no such facility exists). He said he is from Mexico but has lived in Melbourne for 20 years. He claims both his parents are deceased and that his wife left him and took his 2 children back to Mexico a few years ago. He repeatedly asked for me to pay for his urgent “vacation leave” of AUD $6500
His email was jacobwang1965@gmail.com but he changed it two days ago to jacobwang6969@gmail.com .
His Skype ID is live:.cid.6fa9f82a461777ce location Australia. I’ve attached some images for your reference.
I can’t send copies of our chats on Google Hangouts (his suggestion) as I’ve deleted my connection with him. He claimed he couldn’t remember his password for Google Hangout so had to create another account. Now I realise he was probably covering his tracks. I’ve also attached a copy of a rather unofficial looking Leave Certificate supposedly approved by a man called “Boris” at the UN Leave Department. Which apparently doesn’t exist. “Boris” is using email address un_service.us@aol.com, which again raised my suspicions.

I am forwarding you some emails regarding the romance scammer going by the name of Jacob Wang. These email specifically relate to a request for leave of absence from the UN in Yemen. This particular scammer was very good at gaining my trust even though I constantly questioned the authenticity of the emails! Yes, I am ashamed to say I got sucked in and agreed to pose as Jacob’s fiancé in the initial email. And paid $6500. Thankfully I came to my senses before paying for a replacement doctor!

I don’t think I have any messages between Jacob and I as our communication took place on Google Hangout and I had to block him and delete my account to stop him from harassing me.
